IDAHO CREATES WATER MEASUREMENT DISTRICT FOR WOOD RIVER VALLEY
A lack of data on water diversions or well ownership in the Wood River Valley hampers the Idaho Department of Water Resources in making decision on water rights disputes, so the department formed the Upper Wood River measurement district to capture that data. (Feb 13)

JUDGE'S DECISION ON IDAHO GRAZING PERMITS COULD DRIVE SAGE GROUSE POLICY
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has until 2015 to come up with a plan to keep sage grouse off the federal endangered species list, but U.S. District Court Judge B. Lynn Winmill's decision issued last week that said the Bureau of Land Management must consider sage grouse first when renewing grazing permits in Idaho could require action before the 2015 deadline.
